DELHI RIOTS

I would love to draw your attention back to 1984 that witnessed anti-Sikh riots and 2002 that endorsed anti - Muslim riots even then thousands of people died when violence continued for unabated for days, and sporadically weeks. Even then no one was spared neither an innocent child nor the oldest members of the following communities. A bit analogous scenario is developed here too in `2020 where anti CAA riots are not taking a breath. On one hand, we proudly say that India is a secular country growing incessantly where all religions are walking together hand in hand and on the other hand our political parties are polarising people just to have a certain vote bank and to be in power.
When clashes broke out a week ago between pro and anti CAA groups, About 92 houses, 57 shops, 500 vehicles, 6 godowns, 2 schools, 4 factories, and 4 religious places were burnt out. forty-two people have been killed and more than 200 are wounded, 40 people are still in hospital, it may sound to you like some random figures but losS that people had is more then what we can expect the Delhi police has filled 167 FIRs and arrested or detained 885 people, for the worst riots in Delhi since three decades. No one expected these sorts of ache din I guess.
In 2002 the former prime minister of our nation Atal Bihari Vajpayee asked the then chief minister of Gujrat Narendra Modi to observe his duty without any discrimination between people on the basis of caste, creed or religion and, must follow his Raj Dharam the same statement came out on Thursday from Sonia Gandhi that BJP Government must follow their raj dharma about which any government must abide. As a quick reaction to this statement, Union Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad on Friday replied to Congress chief Sonia Gandhi over the violence in Delhi, saying that the opposition leader should not lecture the central government about its duties when her own party's record was questionable. These political battles may continue till infinity but what is left after the violence are frightened people, burnt down lanes abandoned homes and perturbed innocent people. Considering the damage that people have suffered even the so-called Sarkari muafza if given, will not make any difference.
few Hindus in Chand Bagh allege they saw councilor Tahir Hussain, who has recently been expelled from the aam administration party, pelting petrol bombs and acid from his multi-story building, while some Muslims claim that he is a savior.
Time has stopped literally in Northeast Delhi since this communal mayhem has begun. After the ablaze of this week's riots many families returned to places like khajuri khas and bhajan Pura, which were supposed to be their houses once but now their belongings that are perpetually reduced to ashes, recites a barren story.
The question here becomes, is it so prior to the government to offer citizenship to people from other countries on the basis of religion while destroying the secular harmony of their own country?
