At least 4 were killed and 13 were injured in a boiler explosion at the thermal power plants in Cuddalore district of Tamilnadu, on Wednesday morning.

The blast took place at the power plant at Central Government-owned NLC India Limited in Cuddalore, about 180 km from the state capital Chennai.

 This is the second boiler blast in the plant where another boiler has exploded. All the injured have been rushed to the nearest hospital. It is said that the boiler was not in operation and the the the incident is under investigation. 

Fire-fighting teams have been rushed to the rescue operations following the blast.
