Congress to appoint new President, why not Captain ...
After the resignation of Rahul Gandhi speculations are on for his successors for the post of Congress supreme. The prominent names in the race are dalit leader Sushil Kumar Shinde, Mallikarjun Kharge, Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot, Deputy CM Sachin Pilot, Young leader Jyotiradity Sindhiya and Anand Sharma. Rahul Gandhi resigned on Wednesday, as he failed to perform in Parliament Elections 2019.
The question is if performance is really the criteria in Congress then how should a non performer may replace another non performer. If we see the performance of hot prospects for next president of grand old party than we hardly find any one satisfactory. Sushil Kumar Shinde lost 2019 loksabha election from Solapur by margin of 1,58,608 votes. Mallikajun Kharge suffered first electoral defeat in his career and lost by margin of 95,452 votes.Known as the Gandhi of Marwar, Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot also failed to perform in loksabha elections. Congress lost all 25 seats including the Jodhpur seat from where son of Ashok Gehlot was the party candidate. The pair of Gehlot and his deputy Pilot failed drastically in loksabha elections. The case of Jyotiradity Sidhia is no differ, he lost his own seat and performed defective. As far as Anand Sharma is concerned as usual he was not the candidate but congress delivered awful in his home state Himachal Pradesh. The point is, CWC will select a president or a representative of Gandhi family?
As far as performance is concerned besides Kerala Congress only performed well in Punjab under the leadership of Captain Amrinder Singh. Why not captain can be a captain of congress? It is the point to think.
