Army to set enquiry on troops, accused of killing 3 labourers in Jammu and Kashmir
On July 18, The Army had claimed that three terrorists had been killed in an operation at Ashmipora in Shopian. The matter came into light when the families of these victims raised voice. Imtiyaz Ahmed, Abrar Ahmed, and Mohd Ibrar, who hailed from Rajouri were three laborers and their families came forward claiming the missing three were cousins and one of them was 16 years old.
The Army itself admitted that the three killed in the encounter were laborers from Rajouri and the troops exceeded their powers UFSPA.
An inquiry was conducted and it is found that the Army personnel misused UFSPA. On the basis of collected information and evidence, further investigation will be done on those who are "answerable"
Mohammad Yusuf, the father of Abrar Ahmed said: “I want the bodies of all the three children. All three children were innocent and they have been killed in cold blood. I want those responsible to be hanged.”
