The state government has set a target to vaccinate 60 thousand people daily in Himachal Pradesh. The central government will now provide free vaccines to Himachal. Its supply is likely to reach Himachal by June 20. This program will start on June 21. Apart from hospitals, primary health centers, now vaccine centers will be set up in schools, colleges, offices, and Panchayat Bhawan as well. 

The government is going to build one thousand more vaccination centers in the state. Regarding the vaccine campaign, Health Secretary Amitabh Awasthi has asked the principals, CMOs, BMOs of medical colleges to vaccinate more and more people. The government has set a target to vaccinate people above 18 years of age by October.

Under the new vaccination policy, the beneficiaries are divided into two categories for applying the vaccine. Category-A all beneficiaries above 45 years of age for the first dose, all beneficiaries of the same age group eligible for the second dose of Covishield, all healthcare workers, frontline workers, while beneficiaries in the age group 18 to 44 Placed in B-category.
