Deputy Chairman of Karnataka Legislative Council Found Dead on Railway Track
Karnataka Legislative Council Deputy Speaker SL Dharme Godwa was found dead on the railway track near Kadur in Chikkamagaluru of Karnataka in the wee hours of Tuesday. A suicide note has also been recovered by the police. However, the content of the letter remains unknown.
A probe has been launched into the death of Dharmegowda whose body parts have been recovered from the spot.
According to the police, on Monday evening around 7 pm, he left home in his car along with his driver. He drove towards the railway track and asked the driver to leave, saying he had to discuss some important political matters on the phone. He allegedly called some friends and asked about the train movement on the track as well, said police.
Since he had left his security and driver behind, and he didn't return home until 10 pm, a search began and hours later, his body was recovered on the tracks.
