Wildlife Poaching: 3 arrested by Forest deptt. Team in Nagpur with 17 Tiger Whiskers

Maharashtra forest officials retrieved seventeen tiger whiskers from three poachers in Nagpur. The accused were Maharashtra residents from Nagpur and Bhandara regions. The Forest Department acted after receiving word from their credible source that a tiger whisker sale was about to take place. Deputy Forest Conservator B S Hada added, "We were keeping a close eye on the accused." We closed in on the three culprits on May 1, apprehended them, and seized 17 whiskers." The origin of the tiger whiskers and the forest division to which they belong are being investigated. Illegal poachers have a high demand for tiger whiskers since they are utilized by godmen and tantriks, making it a very profitable business for them.
