A high influx of tourist seen in Shimla, more than 8000 vehicles entered the city
There has been an influx of tourists on the weekends in the hotels of Shimla, the capital of Himachal Pradesh. The occupancy in the city's hotels reached 70 to 90 percent on Saturday. Some hotels are 100% packed. Up to 50 percent bookings have already been done in some hotels for next week's weekend. On Saturday, the city's biggest lift car parking got packed at 2.30 pm, after which the operators had to close the entry point by chain. On Saturday, there was a lot of movement of tourists on Ridge Maidan and Mall Road. Apart from Shimla, tourists are also visiting Mashobra, Naldehra, Kufri and Narkanda. The occupancy is expected to reach 95 percent by Saturday evening, said Sanjay Sharma, Manager, Hotel Willow Bank Front Office. Hotel Marina manager Sunil Chandel said that 90 percent of the hotels are booked for Saturday. Vikas Kapoor, Vice President, Hotel Radisson said that the occupancy of hotels on weekends is 75 percent.
