Solan Public School organizes Pinkwalk, generates awareness about cancer

On the occasion of "International Women's Day" Solan Public School organised a "Pinkwalk". The teachers, students along with citizens of Solan town walked from Old DC Office to School Campus. There were banners of women empowerment all along the route. All the participants walked the route with great enthusiasm. The walk was supported by the district administration and the Solan police personnel. At the school campus the gathering was treated with song and dance items by the students. Twinkle from SJ dancing academy also gave a powerful dance performance and also dedicated a poem to women's cause. The former in-charge of Regional Ayurvedic Hospital Solan Dr. Anita Gautam spoke on the occasion highlighting the role women play in the society and the need for women to take care of their health. She also taught different yoga moves which can be done to reduce stress and body ailments. The school Counsellor Ms Anita spoke about the reasons for depression in women and how to counter them. Mr. Satyen founder of Shiksha Kranti appreciated the initiative taken by the school to grow awareness about women related issues. The school Managing Director Ms Preetee Kumar emphasised on the need of changing the mindset of society and giving equal opportunities to both genders so that the girls can soar to newer heights. She said the purpose of organizing "Pinkwalk" is to generate awareness on the growing problem of cancer in society in general and women in particular. The event ended on a high note with dance steps taught by the school dance teachers.
