Pakistan conveys its readiness to reopen Kartarpur Corridor on Monday

Pakistan has conveyed its readiness to open the Kartar Pur Sahib corridor for Sikh pilgrims on June 29. On Saturday, the foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, through his twitter handle made an announcement that Islamabad was prepared to reopen the corridor on the occasion of the death anniversary of Maharaja Ranjeet Singh.
The corridor was closed on March 16 in the wake of coronavirus pandemic.
“As places of worship open up across the world, Pakistan prepares to reopen the Kartarpur Sahib Corridor for all Sikh pilgrims, conveying to the Indian side our readiness to reopen the corridor on 29 June 2020, the occasion of the death anniversary of Maharaja Ranjeet Singh,” Qureshi tweeted.
He further said that the Kartarpur Corridor is a true symbol of peace and religious harmony and this landmark initiative by Pakistan has been immensely appreciated by the Sikh community all over the world, including India.
