Janmashtami celebrations go virtual amid Covid-19
Dagshai Public School, Dagshai, organized a virtual competition on Krishna Janmashtmi, the birth anniversary of Lord Krishna who was born to show the world a right path of Karma; as he says in Bhagwat Gita- “karmanye vadhikaraste, Ma phalehou kada chana, Ma karma phala hetur bhurmatey sangostvaakarmani”. Videos and pics were demanded from the students based on different themes like Krishnavtar, dances, songs, bhajans, life sketch and pranks of Lord Krishna.
Students gave a huge response to the competition by sending their videos and pics to the school in their respective class groups. They donned the roles of Lord Krishna and Gopikas and many other characters related to Janmashtmi. They won the soul of the viewers by their dresses and performances in the form of dances, poems, bhajan stuti, songs, stories and speeches based on the theme of Janmashtmi. The pranks of Lord Krishna marked the event with more fun and frolic. The celebration created awareness about the Indian tradition, culture and custom.
The theme of the celebration was conceptualized, planned, and executed by the Administrative Officer Jaspal Kaur who is keeping the students and staff engaged in such activities by motivating them for participation to defeat the monotony of the COVID-19 situation.
Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh applauded the efforts of students, teachers and parents and shared his views on the occasion. He expressed that such celebrations keep our culture alive for future generations and help in the overall development of the students.
Executive Director S. Amarjit Singh and Advisory member Simran Thapar congratulated the winners and praised the efforts of the school administration. A religious function was also organized in the school premises by the school administration and the staff on duty.
