RBI bans HDFC Bank to issue new credit cards

The Reserve Bank of India has taken strict action on HDFC Bank reacting to the complaint of online services being down in the bank several times in the last two years, the RBI has banned the signing-up of new credit card customers and all further digital projects.
The Reserve Bank has said that once it is satisfied that regulatory and accountability issues have been resolved, these restrictions will be lifted.After the news, HDFC Bank shares have fallen.The bank's shares are trading around 1382, losing about 25 rupees.
Significantly, in the last two years, there were many complaints of HDFC Bank's digital system coming to a standstill or down. The Reserve Bank of India had sought clarification after digital services of private sector giant HDFC Bank were recently disrupted for several hours on November 21 and 22. The Reserve Bank had sought information about the data center from where the problem arose.It is said that due to a problem in HDFC's data center, the bank's UPI, ATM and debit / credit card services were completely disrupted for about 12 hours. Bank customers have faced this problem for the third time in the last two years.The Reserve Bank was particularly concerned about this because for the third time in the last 2 years, such a technical problem has occurred in HDFC Bank.
