Hotels and restaurants in Shimla to open by mid of September
All the members of the Tourism Industry Stake Holders Association have decided to open their Hotels and restaurants in Shimla by mid of September. The SOP has been issued by the Government which was circulated to all the members. All the members have gone through it and all the members have decided to make all the arrangements required under SOP to be complied before opening the hotels. The training of staff will be organized from next week. The existing staff in the hotels will be trained in the first phase. The tips to take precautions required to be taken by the staff while serving and housekeeping will be a part of the training. Secondly, the decision to keep hotels and restaurants closed for the time being is taken because as per the medical experts the COVID 19 cases will go at its peak during July and August. Keeping in view the off seasonal months ahead we have decided to prepare our establishments and staff for the opening of our units post COVID. Keeping in view the Opinion of the medical experts we have decided to open the tourism units only after August in the larger interest of the general public. However, it has been decided that the hotels situated near hospitals or the hotels that have occupancy dependent on local Himachalis may open their units on the internet of the general public. Today the meeting was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner wherein we have given him the view of our association.
On Wednesday, the zoom meeting of the federation of all Himachal Associations was held wherein associations of Manali, Dharamshala, Chamunda, Kasauli, Shimla, Kinnaur, etc participated in the meeting. All the associations were having the same opinion as mentioned above and it was decided that we should try to open Himachal for tourism by mid of September.
