Farmers Protest : Talks with govt remain deadlocked, Protestors likely to hold 'tractor march' tomorrow
Braving the bone-chilling cold, the protesting farmers, mainly from Punjab and Haryana have been at the border points of the national capital for almost 40 days now. They are standing firm on their demands for repeal of farm laws and legal backing for MSP. Their talks with the government over the period have remained inconclusive.
On Monday, the seventh round of talks was held to resolve the deadlock. The unions stuck to their demand for a complete repeal of the new farm laws, while the government wanted to discuss only “problematic” clauses or other alternatives. The two sides will meet again on January 8.
Protestors likely to hold 'tractor march' tomorrow
Farmers agitating against the farm laws are likely to hold a “tractor march” on Wednesday in protest against the laws. At a press conference on January 1, the farm union leaders had announced that a “tractor march” would be held on the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal (KMP) expressway if the seventh round of talks too remained inconclusive.
