Drug alert : Five drugs made in Himachal Pradesh fail quality test by CDSCO
The Central Drugs Standards Control Organisation tested 1,001 samples in January 2021. It issued an alert for 16 drugs that failed the test; of them, 5 drugs were manufactured in Himachal Pradesh. The drugs that failed the test include four from Solan district and one each from Sirmour and Una.
In January, the organization collected samples from a thousand companies across the country, out of which only 985 samples have met the standards. Drug Controller Navneet Marwah said that the companies have been issued notices asking them to withdraw the stock from the market.
According to the information received from CDSCO, the Ontic Syrup, (B. No.: CL19136) manufactured by M/s. Corona Remedies Pvt. Ltd., Solan, Nitzo - 2.6 (B. No.: 419-1544) manufactured by M/s. Zee Laboratories, Paonta Sahib, Amitriptyline Tablets I.P. (B. No.: TAMF-026) manufactured by M/s. Medipol Pharmaceutical India Pvt. Ltd. Baddi, Solan, Ancef 1 gm (B. No.: 13018A) manufactured by M/s. Osper Formulations Pvt. Ltd., Jharmajri Baddi, Dist. Solan, and Sterile Water For Injection I.P. 10 ml (B. No.: 1902022) manufactured by M/s. Legency Remedies Pvt. Ltd., Baddi, Dist. Solan has failed.
