Himachal Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission Increases Tariff by 20 Paisa Per Unit
Himachal Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission on Wednesday has fixed new electricity rates for the year 2022-23. Electricity rates for the industry have not been increased for the third year in a row. Domestic rates have been increased by 20 paise but the government will bear the increased rates as a subsidy. There will be no burden on domestic consumers.
On the other hand, keeping in view the services rendered by the defense forces in the state, the defense establishments within the state will be charged at domestic rates. Earlier, the duty was charged at wholesale rates. At the same time, commercial establishments operating in the Defense Cantonment Area will be charged at commercial rates.
Fees will be charged at the rate of 30 paise per unit from Gau Sadans and Gau Abhyarans registered with the Gau Seva Aayog. Earlier, domestic rates were charged. The amount of subsidy received by the government from the electricity board has been increased from Rs 500 crore to Rs 750 crore.
