Ex-Navy officer attacked for sharing cartoon on Maharashtra CM
Maharashtra's ruling power Shiv Sena, allegedly attacked an ex-navy officer for forwarding Uddhav Thakarey’s ridiculing cartoon on social media. The 65-year-old Madan Sharma was attacked near his home in Kandivali East, Mumbai. The retired Navy Officer filed a complaint against Shiv Sena workers where he said that he forwarded Uddhav Thakeray’s funny cartoon in his residential society’s WhatsApp group. Later that day he got a call from Kamlesh Kadam, who called him outside his building where he was attacked by a group of masked men.
Society’s CCTV footage is being widely shared on social media where Madan Sharma is seen thrashed by masked men. In the footage, Madan walked outside his building towards the main gate and after a few moments he’s seen running back and a group of men chasing him. One of them punched him on his face. Several BJP leaders, including former Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, posted a photo of an injured Madan Sharma.
"The ruling Shiv Sena which showed its masculinity by demolishing the office of actor Kangana Ranaut has now beaten a retired Navy officer and has injured his eye. The Chief Minister is running dictatorship from his house," Atul Bhatkhalkar, BJP MLA from Mumbai's Kandivali East constituency, tweeted
In the following matter, six people including Kamlesh Kadam are arrested by the police and the investigation is under process.
