CORONA saved Kamalnath government today, what’s next?
-BJP GOES TO SUPREME COURT AS KAMAL NATH GETS 10 DAY BREAK OVER CORONAVIRUS
Congress government led by Kamal Nath, got a 10-day reprieve on Monday as the assembly session was adjourned, after the address by governor Lalji Tandon, till March 26 over coronavirus. The opposition BJP is now confident as it has the majority to take power. BJP MLAs have submitted a list of names of 106 MLA’s before the governor BJP leader Shivraj Singh Chauhan demanded the governor to get a test of strength done soon and accused the ruling Congress for not having a majority and still clinging on to power.
Shiv Raj Chauhan has filed a petition in the supreme court against the adjournment of the assembly and demanding a test of strength. The supreme court will tomorrow take up the BJP MLAs petition within 12 hours.
Governor Lalji Tandon has written to the speaker to hold a test of strength today for the 15-month-old Kamal Nath government, which is in huge trouble after the resignation of 22 Congress MLAs. The terror of coronavirus has been cited as the reason behind the adjournment of the assembly, however, the Congress is yearning for its survival, under the guise of coronavirus the Congress has asked for the assembly to be suspended.
Most of its MLAs entered the house wearing masks.
Reacting to this BJPs three-term chief minister Shiv Raj Chauhan said, ‘’corona won’t save Kamal Nath’s government. He has clearly lost his majority, so he avoided a trust vote today’’.
The resignation of 22 congress MLA’s might result in the collapse of the state government. MLAs, who flew to Bengaluru in BJP ruled Karnataka, are expected to move towards BJP and might follow Jyotiraditya Scindia. Only six of the 22 resignations have been accepted by the speaker. Congress considered these rebels as kidnapped and kept captive in Bengaluru who are waiting for help.
The assembly currently has 222 MLA’s including 16 rebellion MLA’s. If the resignations of 16 MLA’s is accepted by the speaker then assembly strength will be 206 with the majority figure of 104. In that case, it is almost certain that Shivraj Singh Chauhan led BJP government will be back in power.
Corona saved Kamalnath government on Monday, what’s next? Rebellion 16 MLA’ s will decide the future of Kamalnath Government.
